Many homeowners experience a shift in needs and lifestyle as their children leave the nest.  A basement remodel can be a fantastic way to breathe new life into your home and enhance your living space as your life evolves. The client's design vision, combined with Patrick A Finn's meticulous craftsmanship and dedication, resulted in a basement that feels as inviting and comfortable as any other room in the house.

1) Custom Staircase

A dramatic departure from the ordinary, this custom staircase boasts unique steel railings fabricated specifically for the project. The red oak treads and crisp white poplar risers create a striking contrast, setting the tone for a stylish and modern basement renovation.

2) Handmade Tile & Round Sink

The handcrafted details in this space elevate the design to new heights. The faceted round bar sink adds a touch of modern geometry, while the iridescent handmade terracotta tiles shimmer with a subtle play of color.  These ClĂ© Zellige tiles, aptly described as "weathered white," capture the essence of opals with their range of grays, creams, pinks, and even hints of blue and celadon. The Moroccan-inspired tiles find a perfect partner in Kohler's Brinx sink with its faceted design.  Finished with the Artifacts Gentleman's Bar Faucet, this combination is a true showstopper.

Originally, the wall tiles were planned to end at the countertop, which is fairly standard practice. The light switch location made this termination awkward, so we decided to tile the entire wall instead. The placement of the towel bar makes this change look more intentional, creating a more cohesive space.

4) Custom Green Bar Cabinets

This wet bar features custom cabinets that were color-matched to replicate a color that inspired the client from her favorite designer, Emily Henderson. The Sherwin Williams Pewter Green is an excellent complement to the brass towel bar mounted at the end of the line of cabinets and shelf brackets featured above. The warm metal tones offset the variety of patterns found in the wood flooring.
